Love, Your wonderful child!

As part of our parent participation in our Preschool, each parent is asked to provide a nutritious snack and drink on your child’s “Snack Day”. Please make sure that the snack is nutritious and not full of sugar.  Snack is to include the main item and 100% juice or 1% milk, or water.  Some good snack foods are: Peanut butter crackers, carrots and dip, muffins, fresh fruit, fruit cups, fruit bars, Trail mix with raisins, cheese and crackers, yogurt, frozen mini pancake, chili and chips, cheese sticks, just to name a few.  A healthy snack menu is posted in your sign out book and on the parent board. The school does not use tap water for drinking or food prep.

Children get very excited about their “snack day”, please do your best to include them in the selection.  Feel free to tie the snack into the weekly theme or color or shape of the week, which will be posted in the sign out book.  We also ask that you capitalize on your culture/ holiday traditions or your child’s favorite recipe so that they can come and share with their classmates the meaning or importance of that food.  This will help them in their literacy skills as well.  Food is a wonderful source to develop your child’s sense of exploration and appreciation in trying other things.   If you forget to bring a snack and drink on your snack day please inform the teacher and she will assign you a make up day and post it on the snack calendar.  If your child is absent on his or her assigned day, you may bring snack in on an alternative day assigned by the teacher.

If you have any questions please see the teachers.  Please read parent handbook for more details.  Do not send sugary cereal, cookies, cupcakes, chips…remember, HEALTHY!!!!! 🙂

All supplies need to be turned in by August 25, 2023 Please
